The countdown of my 11 favorite romantic movies continues! Number 10 on my list is the Princess Bride, a film full of “Fencing, Fighting, Torture, Revenge, Giants, Monsters, Chases, Escapes, True Love, Miracles.” The movie is based on William Goldman’s book of the same name, which if you haven’t read – I definitely recommend it, and has some of the most quotable dialogue you will ever find in a movie! (“Hello. My name is Indigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die,” “Bye-Bye Boys! Have fun storming the castle!” “Inconceivable!” “You keep using that word. I dinna think it means what you think it means.”)
But my favorite line, and the reason that this film made the list is this:

I LOVE this movie. I could quote it all day long!
Favorite romantic movies huh? Hmm…i don’t know if i have all that many. this, overboard, pride and prej – no wait, thats a mini series…but if I had to pick an all time favorite Romantic Movie, i can’t think of anything but this one. interested in seeing what makes it as your top if this is number 10!
I am not sure if this list is in any particular order. I love all of these movies so much that I would be hard pressed to rank them but I let my niece, K, pick which movie I posted yesterday out of my list of favorites and she choose the Princess Bride. They we started quoting the movie back and forth and practically recited the whole thing!
And as for Pride and Prejudice, I will allow it even if it is a miniseries rather than a movie. There are movie versions but I think we can all agree that Colin Firth is the definitive Darcy.
